About Us

Meet the management team

We founded Astute in Manchester to create an innovative, client-focused consultancy that is fully aware of its impacts upon the built and natural environments. Collectively, our founders have over 80 years of private-sector transport planning and multi-disciplinary experience.

A select group of transport planners, civil engineers and other specialists supports our management team.

How We Work

We're a people-focused, inclusive business. We enjoy working, learning and socialising together.

We've created a flexible working environment, enabling our colleagues to work in ways suited to their individual and family circumstances. We believe in excellent communication, personal interaction and teamwork.

We're always willing to meet clients face-to-face and attend meetings in person.

Careers

We advertise for specific roles and we're constantly looking for the best transport planning professionals to join our Manchester team - we're striving to be one of the UK's leading transport planning consultancies.

We believe our strength comes from diversity and equal opportunities. To work for us requires no specific career path, but we support career progression and membership of professional bodies such as the Transport Planning Society and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.

For more information about currently available roles or to submit your CV for review, please email:

Social Value

We're acutely aware of our work's potential long-term effects on our colleagues, communities, equal opportunities for access, social inclusion and the built and natural environment.

Also, as transport is the largest producer of carbon emissions in the UK, we have a responsibility to help create communities that can travel less, are less reliant on the combustion engine and will have a positive environmental impact.

We're keen to contribute voluntary work and support local community groups, charities and education programmes wherever possible. Please contact us at hello@astutetransport.com to discuss how we can help you.

We also support several charities throughout the year through fundraising and other activities.

In 2024, these charities include Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Simply Cycling.

We are pleased to sponsor the Bramhall North Under 8's girl team.
