Hale Bank, Halton

Adam and Oliver supported Harworth Group gain outline planning consent for the development of up to 500 dwellings, a primary school and local centre in Halton, Merseyside. This required supporting the site through the Local Plan process, agreeing a package of off-site highway works and extensive active travel improvements.

Crewe Road

Sandbach, Cheshire East

Oliver supported Wain Estates in the submission of a planning application for a residential-led development in Sandbach, comprising circa 160 dwellings, a later-living facility and community uses. Astute provided detailed input into the development of the masterplan, emphasising the importance of active travel linkages and permeability throughout the site.

Alderley Park, Cheshire

Following a mixed-use application by Bruntwood, Richard has supported the preparation of a number of residential, key-worker and later living applications. Across the wider estate, Astute has also assisted Bruntwood with the preparation of a Site Wide Travel Plan, have undertaken a comprehensive gap analysis considering vehicle and active travel movement patterns through the campus, and have worked on land which has been identified for development through a Future Vision document.

Bromborough Wharf

Astute Transport Planning were appointed by Grammont Group and Black Pearl Capital on the proposed residential development sites off Dock Road South in Bromborough, Wirral, with a total of 975 dwellings consented across two sites. They were commissioned to review the transport mitigation strategy in more detail, defining the scope of highways works covering the proposed site access junctions and off-site highway (active travel) improvements. Astute also agreed a public transport strategy for the development, including the principle of diverting an existing bus service through the site and new bus stop requirements.

Bosley Works Redevelopment

Bosley, Cheshire East

Astute Transport Planning were appointed by Boden and Davies Ltd to support a hybrid planning application for the redevelopment of the Bosley Works site near the village of Bosley in Cheshire East. The hybrid planning application sought to regenerate the site, consolidating and improving facilities for the remaining industrial uses in the Key Green Industrial Estate part of the site, and reintroducing 58 residential dwellings. Accessibility by sustainable modes of transport and traffic impacts were both significant considerations.

Weeland Road, Eggborough

Eggborough, North Yorkshire

Astute Transport Planning were appointed by Jones Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd to support a detailed planning application for residential development on land to the north of Weeland Road in Eggborough, North Yorkshire. The planning application proposed 50 residential dwellings and formed Phase 2 of development on the site. In accordance with planning policy, their assessment confirmed that the site was suitably accessible by shared and active travel modes, and that it benefitted from convenient access to local amenities.

Faraday Road

Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland & Furness

Richard supported Gleeson Homes’ detailed planning application for a residential development of 152 dwellings on land to the west of Faraday Road in Kirkby Stephen. The submitted Transport Assessment considered the traffic impact of the proposals on the roads surrounding the site, as well as the design of a new priority controlled junction to serve the development.
